EchomerceBot

What is EchomerceBot?

EchomerceBot is the crawler behind the scans Echomerce users start to understand their own brand and the competitors they follow. Its user agent starts with “EchomerceBot”.

It reads public pages only: a handful such as the home, about, product and contact pages, plus the product feed or sitemap the site publishes itself. It never enters logged-in areas, carts or checkout, and never submits forms.

How it behaves

It follows the rules in your robots.txt. Each scan reads a small number of pages one after another and limits how many it reads so it does not load your site.

The one exception is a site whose owner verified it in Echomerce with a meta tag, DNS record or file: for that site only, and with its owner's permission, robots.txt rules are not applied.

How to block it

Add “Disallow: /” under “User-agent: EchomerceBot” in your robots.txt to block all scans. Rules you wrote earlier for “AgencyOSBrandCrawler” still apply.
